For money, wealthy dental technician Armando (Alfredo Castro) brings young men to his apartment in one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Not to sleep with them, but to watch them undress—without touching them. One of the men Armando tracks down and selects, as if on a concentrated hunt, is the street boy Elder (Luis Silva), who promptly knocks Armando down and robs him when they first meet. Nevertheless, Armando remains relatively unimpressed and continues to seek the company of the handsome boy. At first, the boy only gets involved with him for the money. Gradually, an unexpected intimacy develops between the two dissimilar men: old collides with young, rich with poor, repelling and attracting each other. While Elder increasingly opens up, yet remains unsettled by his erratic behavior, Armando maintains a degree of distance... "On the surface, this is about suppressed, unlived homosexuality, seemingly about love. But on closer inspection, director Vigas delivers a sharp political analysis. With a keen eye for detail, he develops the different class spheres: here Armando's dignified, wood-paneled apartment, the home of a middle-class man decorated with books and family photos, full of teak and leather furniture; there Elder's homeless existence between workshop, junkyard, and tenement—and above, in unattainable heights, the ominous oligarch in his glass bungalow and office tower. [...] Chilean star actor Alfredo Castro (“No!”, “El Club”) plays this man who is completely incapable of love, with an inscrutable face that allows hardly more expression than the carefully coiffed back of his head. In stark contrast to him is film debutant Luis Silva as a not unattractive example of the growing worldwide crowd of young men who, for whatever reason, willingly allow themselves to be turned into human time bombs – driven by instinct and remote-controlled."
